🎬🎥📽️🎞️Stop Directing with Your Hands. Start Leading with Your Words.
The international film industry speaks one language: English. If you can’t pitch, negotiate, or lead a set in English, your talent stays local. Master the language of Hollywood in 6 weeks.
Meet your lecturers
Sean Patterson

Native American English speaker Sean Patterson has been helping others with English for 31 years (no joke). He has been teaching TEFL courses since 2005 when he taught MBA candidates at Thunderbird School of Global Management, his alma mater.
When he is not teaching English, he is producing great films and series for Sizzle Real. He also serves as a Final Cut Pro consultant to other film editors and teaches tennis and public speaking.
He also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Nebraska Wesleyan University (USA) and attended the University of Warwick (UK) studying political science, computer science, and European business management and law.
Vasco Viana

Vasco Maria Basto Viana, born in Porto in 1992, is a Portuguese writer and director based in Copenhagen. He holds a BA in Fine Arts from ESAP (2013) and a Master’s in Contemporary Art from FBAUP (2015). After discovering his passion for cinema in Barcelona, where he wrote and directed his first short films, he pursued a Master’s in Directing at FAMU in Prague, graduating in 2023.
Between 2018 and 2023, Vasco directed over fifteen short films, music videos, and theater plays, including the award-winning Departures, Fantasma, and Split Leap. He founded the Grand Acting Studio in 2020 and co-founded Sizzle Real in 2022. In 2024, he relocated to Copenhagen to explore Scandinavian cinema. Currently, he is developing three series for international distribution: Monochopsia, Odeceixe United, and Northern Lights.
Intro to the Course: Talent is Universal. Language is the Gatekeeper.
Let’s be honest: You’ve worked too hard on your craft to be sidelined by a language barrier.
Have you ever frozen during a pitch because the right word wouldn’t come?
Have you missed a global co-production because the contract felt like a foreign puzzle?
Are you tired of being the “local talent” when you know your work belongs on a global stage?
Generic English courses teach you how to order a sandwich. We teach you how to close a distribution deal.
And here’s the kicker: Generic or Business English courses won’t fix this. You don’t need to learn how to order coffee or write business emails. You need to learn how to pitch, negotiate, and communicate like a legal professional.
That’s Exactly What This Course Gives You.
From "Lost in Translation" to "Locked and Loaded."
This isn’t school; it’s a career accelerator. Over 6 weeks, you’ll move beyond basic grammar and dive into the high-stakes communication used at Sundance, Cannes, and on major studio sets.
The Curriculum Highlights:
The Power Pitch: Master the “Elevator Pitch” and the formal deck presentation.
On-Set Command: Essential terminology for directing actors, lighting, and sound without hesitation.
The Art of the Deal: Negotiating rates, backend points, and international rights with confidence.
Script & Table Reads: Analyzing subtext and tone so you can give better notes.
